What is a Project?
Once you have
signed up or
signed in, you need to select an active project
that you want to work with. You can create a new Project using the Create Project + button. Think of a project as a way of organising your content, contacts and audiences
, and interactions. You can create many projects and manage them all using one BakeMyWeb account. There is much more to a project, but let's keep it simple for now.
At a high level, a project consists of:
- Pages: Web pages contain text and hyperlinks to other pages (ex. About, Contact, Pricing, Landing Pages, etc.). You can create and design unlimited pages in a website. One project is tied to one and only one website.
- Blog Posts: Similar to web pages, but displayed using a list in reverse chronological order. In simpler words, the latest posts (news about your website) are displayed on top. All kind of pages in a project support
emojis. - Images: Your collection of images from various websites or uploaded directly to the project. Every uploaded image is public by default.
- Files: Your documents, PDFs, PPTs, ZIPs, etc. uploaded directly to the project. Every uploaded document is public by default.
- Contact List: A contact list is a set of records where each record MUST have an email address. There could be only one record with one email address.
- Audience: An audience is a temporary subset of a contact list that matches any specific criteria. You can group them by a field/column. You can save an audience list for future use if needed.
- Mail Campaigns: A mail that you can send to a specific person, a contact list, or an audience.
- Tasks: If you tell us to do something that takes a long time (like sending 100+ emails!), we handle it in the background so you can continue your work. A Task is a way we notify you about the progress.
- Team: A set of people with different roles and responsibilities who could access your project. Each project consists of a separate team with you as the Administrator/Owner.
